Inter president Massimo Moratti has revealed that coach Andrea Stramaccioni has signed a new contract until 2015.
The 36-year-old had already been guaranteed a place on Inter's bench for 2012-13, but he has now agreed to add two more years to the contract binding him to the Nerazzurri.
"I was not at Inter's headquarters, but Stramaccioni has agreed to renew his contract for another three years," Moratti told the club's official website.
The former Inter Primavera coach, who took over from Claudio Ranieri in March, guided the team to five victories from nine matches as the San Siro outfit finished sixth in the Serie A table.
Moratti then commented on Inter's pursuit of Napoli striker Ezequiel Lavezzi, indicating that his side has not dropped its interest in the Argentine.
"I had agreed with Aurelio De Laurentiis to meet with him again," he explained. "But due to the fact that we both had some commitments, that has not been possible yet."
