Zaccheroni tips 'superior' AC Milan to overcome Inter

The 59-year-old, who has coached both clubs, feels that the Rossoneri have too much quality for the Nerazzurri, though he suspects Juventus will end up winning the title.

Alberto Zaccheroni is tipping AC Milan to prevail in Sunday night's eagerly-awaited derby clash with Inter at San Siro, claiming the reigning Serie A champion is far "superior" to its city rival.

The Japan boss, who has coached both sides, believes that the Rossoneri will prove far too strong for Inter, which have endured a tumultuous campaign that has claimed two coaches in Gian Piero Gasperini and Claudio Ranieri.

"At the moment, the Rossoneri are superior from any perspective, so I think that they have a great chance of winning," Zaccheroni told Sky Sport Italia. "Inter have had a very troubled season, characterized by ups and downs, and a number of changes of coach. Milan, for their part, have shown good quality, also in the level of their play."

However, Zaccheroni still suspects that the Rossoneri will be pipped to the title by another of his former clubs.

"They have not had displayed a consistency equal to that of Juventus, who, in this regard, have played better football but with inferior players," the 59-year-old argued.

Zaccheroni spent three years in charge of Milan between 1998 and 2001 before returning to San Siro two seasons later to take over at Inter.
