thumbnail Hello,

Prandelli all but confirms Italy's starting XI for Ukraine friendly, as Gilardino and Rossi appear favourites to start in Tuesday's match...

Giuseppe Rossi is expected to partner Alberto Gilardino in attack when Italy clash with Ukraine, as coach Cesare Prandelli makes several changes to his team.

La Repubblica reports Alberto Aquilani will play behind the two strikers who started as substitutes in Friday's 1-0 win over Slovenia in their Euro 2012 qualifier.

The duo, who ply their trade for Villarreal and Fiorentina respectively, are now set to get the nod after impressing in Sunday's training session at Coverciano.

Prandelli tried a 4-3-1-2 formation with Viviano in goal, Maggio, Gastaldello, Chiellini and Criscito in defence; Montolivo, Marchisio and Nocerino were in midfield with Aquilani supporting Rossi and Gilardino.

The session ended with a mixed selection match that saw Gilardino score twice.
