Coach Massimiliano Allegri refused to talk of a crisis as Milan dropped more important points following the 1-1 draw with Genoa. As Milan saw their lead at the top cut to three following a frustrating draw away to Genoa, Rossoneri coach Massimiliano Allegri ruled out the signs of a crisis bemoaning a poor second half performance for his side’s failure to win.
“There is still a long way to go this season,” he declared to SkySport.
“In the second half we didn’t play well today as we rushed things and weren’t able to create as much as we usually do.
“We are still three points clear at the top but we mustn’t forget there is always room for improvement.
“During the week I hope to recover some more players from the infirmary and the signs that we can come back stronger give me optimism.
“Napoli are breathing down our necks but it would be wrong to say they are a surprise this season. At the beginning this may have been the case, but the Azzurri have proven to be a well organised outfit and are probably playing without the pressure of having to win each week.”
