Milan failed to take an iron grip on the Scudetto following a 1-0 defeat to Roma, but coach Massimiliano Allegri remained positive as his side stayed top of the charts ahead of the winter break.
“It’s never nice to lose,” he declared to SkySport.
“We weren’t at our best this evening and we made an error on the Roma goal.
“There were chances out there to score but I don’t think we were hungry enough for such an encounter.
“However, the result is final and we must remain content with our haul so far this term.
“We are closing the year on top of the standings and I can’t really ask for more from my men.
“Now we must look to recharge our batteries and put this result behind us. It was a bad day at the office but definitely a match to remember as we aspire to improve our game each week.
"We are closing what has been a positive year, and I hope we can pick up in 2011 with the same mentality that has brought us to where we are now."
