thumbnail Hello,

Rafael Benitez praised hattrick hero Dejan Stankovic as Inter returned to winning ways against Parma.

As Inter came through a seven goal thriller to oust Parma 5-2 at the San Siro, coach Rafael Benitez praised his side for their never-say-die attitude as they returned to winning ways following back to back defeats.

“It was a crazy game,” he declared to SkySport shortly after the game.

“I want to thank the club for getting behind the side in these difficult times.

“This afternoon the side showed great character and they never dropped their heads despite going a goal behind.

“Players such as [Dejan] Stankovic and Thiago Motta showed what they are made of and this is the attitude which I want to build my team on.

“We have secured an important victory and merit must be paid to the entire squad for remaining united.

“I changed things after we went a goal behind as Parma were putting us into difficulty in the middle of the park. When I pushed [Javier] Zanetti up into midfield things quickly changed but the reaction from all the players was necessary.”
