thumbnail Hello,

Rafael Benitez declared his side are not dependant on Samuel Eto’o after the hitman once again led Inter to victory.

As Inter moved back to the top of the standings following a 1-0 win over Cagliari, coach Rafael Benitez underlined the importance of the three points and the contribution of key man Samuel Eto’o.

“It was important to win today,” he declared to SkySport.

“I think the side showed some good stuff out there and I was very happy with the contribution of [Samuel] Eto’o.

“He is in a great moment of form, but I don’t think we are dependant on him.

“We controlled the game after the goal but credit must be given to Cagliari for the chances they created."

The coach was then probed on his expectations ahead of the forthcoming Champions League clash against Tottenham.

“It looks set to be a difficult tie as they are a very fast and energetic side. English teams like to play a quick game and we are expecting a hard fought game.”
