Roma striker Francesco Totti is ecstatic after receiving the 2010 Golden Foot Award.

Only players over the age of 29 are eligible for the accolade, which is awarded to the person who stood out not for only their individual sporting achievements but for their personality as well.

"The Golden Foot is an award that fills me with great joy because I have been selected by fans from every nation," Totti wrote on his official website. "The previous winners of this award have been extraordinary players, and there were some big champions who were nominated.

"I wish to thank everyone who voted. Football is wonderful because of its ability to be creative. It is for this reason that I love it so much."

Totti will now get to leave his footprint on 'The Champions Promenade' along the seafront of the Principality of Monaco. The award can only be won once.

Past winners include Alessandro Del Piero, Ronaldinho and Roberto Baggio.
