Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi is bitterly disappointed that his side could not win the Coppa Italia final, being defeated 1-0 by Inter.

The Italian international believes that team-mate and captain Francesco Totti will receive a lot of attention from the media after his sending off late in the match.

"It is a shame that we could not win. We tried our very best, but it all went wrong," the 26-year-old declared to ForzaRoma.info. "I am disappointed because we had thousands of reasons to win, and it would have been the icing on the cake on an already positive season.

"I believe that Totti will now be attacked in the media for what he did," he added.

Roma are still in contention to win the league, as they are only two points behind the Nerazzurri with two matches remaining.
