After watching his Milan outfit return to winning ways for the first time in almost a month, coach Leonardo praised his men for battling towards a scrappy victory against Fiorentina.

“It was a very difficult game,” he declared to SkySport.

“To win this evening against a tough Fiorentina side was far from simple.”

“This is a very important victory and you could see what it meant to my men following Ronaldinho’s goal.

“In terms of reaching our third place objective this result has given us a massive boost. Although it is still not mathematically secure, we now have some added moral following the disappointing results of late."

The coach was then probed on his relationship with Adriano Galliani following the issues with president Silvio Berlusconi during the week.

“We have a great rapport and that’s normal given we have worked together for 13 years now. Out of respect for everything we have done this season, I think there is no need to comment further on issues not related to this evening’s game,” he concluded.
