Del Piero: We Did Not Manage Well Our Three-Goal Advantage Against Siena
The Bianconeri allowed the Robur to snatch a point after having a three-goal lead in the match.
By Rick D'Andrea
Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero insists that his team-mates are not fatigued from playing every three days, after squandering a three-goal lead against Siena.
The Bianconeri had gone 3-0 up after 10 minutes, but saw the Tuscan outfit equalise the match, and claim a much-needed point in the race to avoid relegation.
"I don't think that the problem comes down to fatigue, as our team is still involved in Europe," the 35-year-old told Juventus Channel after scoring his 300th and 301st goal for the Bianconeri. "We just did not keep our advantage.
"All credit goes to Siena, as they did fantastic to claim a point, but there is also a bit of mea culpa in this result.
"When you score three goals in 10 minutes, you believe that you have done enough to take home all three points. We started well, but then we relaxed.
"Our attention will now turn to London and facing Fulham. There is a lot to play for, and a great match awaits," concluded Del Piero.
