Report: Ferrara Meets With Juventus Directors After Chievo Loss
Ferrara is not expected to be replaced at this point in time.
By Adam Scime
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Juventus coach Ciro Ferrara is currently meeting with the directors of the club after being summoned to their headquarters.
Juventus fell to their seventh Serie A defeat this past Sunday, losing 1-0 to Chievo Verona. It has been a disappointing season for the Turin-based outfit, who have now fallen to fifth place in Serie A and were eliminated from the Champions League in the group stages.
Despite not meeting expectations, the young tactician is unlikely to be replaced and is meeting with president Jean-Claude Blanc, sporting director Alessio Secco, and deputy director Roberto Bettega to analyse this negative period and implement a strategy to get the team back on track.
Recently, the Bianconeri's star players have spoken out, with centre-back Giorgio Chiellini saying the club have "no excuses" and goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon claiming their recent performances are "unworthy" of Juventus.
Over the past month, former Chelsea coach Guus Hiddink has been linked with the club, but the Juventus directors have repeatedly voiced their faith in Ferrara and he looks set to stay until the end of the 2009-10 season.
