Roberto Bettega: Juventus Never Doubted Ciro Ferrara’s Work
The Bianconeri director has reiterated the club’s faith in the tactician is intact.
Juventus Vice Director General Roberto Bettega maintains the Old Lady hierarchy never considered sacking boss Ciro Ferrara despite a dismal run of six defeats in their last eight outings.
“We’ll carry on with our project and doubts on the coach’s work were coming from elsewhere rather than from us,” Bettega told Rai TV after Juve defeated Napoli 3-0 last night to advance to the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia.
“We have been chasing after our tenth [Coppa Italia] for so many years and we will give it a shot this season too.
“The team reacted well in a difficult moment. I think it was a deserved victory. We got is as a team and that’s what we want, both in defeats and in victories.”
Juventus are now expected to dive back into the transfer market to strengthen Ferrara’s squad and help him achieve the club’s targets.
“Champions League qualification, Coppa Italia and Europa League, we have plenty of objectives and must look ahead,” explained Bettega.
“We will certainly do something on the market, but the most important thing is to get the injured players back up and running.”
