Mexes: Only Winning Matters For Roma
The Frenchman has urged the Giallorossi to win their next two matches.
Roma defender Philippe Mexes has claimed that only winning the next two crucial matches is important for the club. The Giallorossi have a decisive clash against Basel in the Europa League before taking on Lazio in the Rome derby on Sunday.
"We work to get results, no matter who plays," he was quoted as saying by sportal.it.
"The important thing is that the team wins. We work well together, we are a good group."
Roma and Lazio have had a number of exciting clashes in the past, where the underdog has impressed and Mexes believes the players must show their mental strength to avoid getting caught up in the emotion of the occasion.
"The derby is won mostly with the head, because even if it is a match different from any other, it still affects the rankings. Anyways, I feel calm," concluded the French centre-back.
