Buffon Dedicates Miraculous Save To His Wife & Son
Superman kept his side in the game with a remarkable stop in the first half.
Juventus narrowly edged out Maccabi Haifa by a 1-0 score line, for the second match in succession, as Mauro Camoranesi fortunately scored the winner on the stroke of half time.
The Bianconeri were not at their best in the clash, however they still managed to hold on, mainly thanks to their goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, who made a miraculous save on the half hour mark, to keep the score deadlocked at 0-0.
“The save? I didn’t notice what I had done until I saw the faces of my team-mates. Then I understood,” Buffon was quoted as saying to Sky post-match.
“I dedicate this save to my son and to my wife.”
The World Champion then went on to praise his side who did well to hold onto the result, as well as the club’s new signing Diego, who once again demonstrated the impact he can have when at his best.
He continued, “I think that we did very well in the first half, especially in the first 20 minutes, as we had them on the back foot.
“I want to emphasize the performance of Diego, who did very well again.”
Juve travel to Bergamo this weekend, to take on Atalanta in the final round of Serie A, prior to the international break.
