Roberto Mancini Tells Inter: You Have To Be Physical In Europe

The Italian tactician thinks Inter need to be more physical in the Champions League.

Former Inter coach Roberto Mancini believes the team has been failing in the Champions League because they can't cope with the physical nature of the European game.

The Nerazzurri's chances of qualification for the next phase are teetering on the brink following three draws in as many games. Anything less than maximum points against Dynamo Kiev on Wednesday could see the team fall over the precipice of failure.

"There are many physically strong teams in the Champions League from a technical point of view, and others who are inferior," Mancini told GR Parlamento.

"Sometimes things go well in Europe, and sometimes they don't. You also need some luck."

The Nerazzurri sold Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who was signed by Mancini in 2006, to Barcelona, and the coach believes it was a mistake.

"He is the best striker in the world. It's normal that he needed to adapt, but he is scoring plenty of goals," concluded the Italian.
