Sampdoria President Marotta Responds To Cassano Claims
The Blucerchiati president says that his star spoke his mind, as he is a sincere person.
Sampdoria president Giuseppe Marotta has attempted to calm to the situation involving explosive comments revealed by star forward Antonio Cassano.
Peter Pan angrily reacted to whistles from fans, who were unhappy about the Blucerchiati's scoreless draw with Bari, and was threatening to leave the side, just like he previously did "at Roma and Madrid".
"The words of Cassano are those of a person who is sincere," Marotta told Sky. "He just said what was inside of him.
"They are the typical declarations made post-match.
"Cassano is always respected because he is a direct person, and boldly told people what he really felt inside of him at the time.
"He was unhappy that he could not help his team close the gap to Inter, and on a personal level, score a goal.
"But he did not deserve the whistles from a certain section of the crowd.
"They are in a minority, and Cassano was talking directly to them.
"Do not read too much into them," Marotta concluded.
No punishment will be given to the talented Italian by the club for the outburst.
