Del Neri: The Sampdoria Fans Have Never Had It So Good
The Doria tactician was disappointed by the whistles from the Blucerchiati faithful.
After watching his side frustrated at home by an extremely organized Bari outfit, Sampdoria coach Gigi Del Neri was asked as to the motivation behind the home crowd’s whistles as he spoke to RaiSport shortly after the game.
“I think these fans have become a little too comfortable with what they have been treated to in the last few months,” declared the coach.
“To whistle the side whilst we sit second in the standings doesn’t make much sense.”
Following Antonio Cassano’s comments that he won’t hesitate to move on should the fans repeat such a display of ingratitude, the coach remained calm on the likelihood of losing ‘Il Talentino’.
“Antonio does things on instinct, we all know that. What happened today offended him, but there is nothing to worry about. He wants to stay here and do well for Sampdoria, he certainly isn’t thinking of leaving.”
