Report: Gooch Could Leave Milan In January Window
The newly-arrived AC Milan defender may already be on his way out of the San Siro.
Having just signed for AC Milan in July, you would think that American defender Oguchi Onyewu would at least make it through the season, despite the move being a surprise to many.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the 27-year-old’s club are planning a winter clear-out given their horrendous start to the season, and that Onyewu could be part of the exodus.
Currently sitting in 12th place, Milan have only nine points from seven league matches, none of which featured Onyewu. His first and only competitive appearance for the club came against FC Zurich in the Champions League.
Before joining Milan, Onyewu played for Belgian club Standard Liege. Having joined Liege in 2004, Onyewu made 174 appearances for the club, scoring 13 goals in the process. Onyewu has also been a stalwart in the U.S. lineup since 2004, having made 49 appearances scoring five goals.
