Bologna 1-3 Genoa

Genoa were the favourites for this match and duly took the lead just 11 minutes into it when Houssine Kharja converted a penalty kick. It was earned by Sergio Floccari, who was adjudged to have been fouled inside the Bologna penalty area by Daniele Portanova. Then ten minutes before the interval the Champions League hopefuls doubled their lead as Giuseppe Sculli shot home a Floccari cross.

Five minutes before normal time Bologna pulled one back when striker Marco Di Vaio converted a spot-kick. But the visitors secured all three points in the dying minutes when midfielder Alberto Zapater netted his side's third of the game. It finished 3-1 to Genoa.

Cagliari 1-2 Chievo

Cagliari surged ahead into the lead in the 38th minute when Alessandro Matri headed home Davide Biondini's ball from the centre of the Chievo box into the top right corner of the net. But just three minutes later the Flying Donkeys restored parity as Michele Marcolini found the Cagliari net from outside the penalty area with a left-footed shot. The visitors then went ahead with 20 minutes left on the clock as Michele Marcolini found the target from inside the Cagliari box and they held on for a remarkable victory.

Sampdoria 1-1 Parma

High-flying Sampdoria were expected to win this match pretty comfortably and took the lead in the 23rd minute when star stiker Giampaolo Pazzini headed in after some brilliant work from Daniele Mannini. But seven minutes later Samp conceded to Parma as Daniele Galloppa's right-footed shot from outside the box found the bottom left corner of the net. The hosts failed to add to their tally and the game ended 1-1.

Siena 0-0 Livorno

There were no goals and not much action between these two relegation candidates as neither side failed to break the deadlock. It finished 0-0.
