Mourinho: A 'Crazy' Match With Almost A Goal A Minute

The Nerazzurri gaffer reckons there could have been 90 goals notched up during after his side's opening-round draw.

It wasn't the start that Jose Mourinho and Inter had in mind: a 1-1 draw with newly promoted Bari.

And speaking to Sky after the match, the 'Special One' said that his side lacked the ability to play together, and for one another.

"We have made a total change in our playing structure," Mourinho said. "We have not worked out our best formation yet."

"Bari played a very good game and deserved a point - which is in fact what happened - but I expected more from my team."

Mourinho made the comment during the week that he was expecting a well-organised Bari squad to come out and play against his side.

"We saw a crazy match out there today, with both teams having the ability to score a goal almost every minute," he said.

"In the first half, we played a diamond formation, but there was no space to play our strikers. But then, with our wingers in the second half, we played well."

Mourinho says that his team cannot rest on their laurels, and need to go for the killer blow when they hit the lead in a game.

"The team is motivated, but when we have a 1-0 lead, we need to go for a 2-0 one, because we don't have the mental ability to defend," he said.

"I do not look for excuses, but we still have a lot to work on, and towards."

The former Porto and Chelsea coach will need to get his team into shape quickly, as Inter take on city-rivals Milan next week.
