Jose Mourinho: No Alibis, Inter Played Badly
The Nerazzurri failed to get all three points in their first match of the season in Serie A, as an impressive Bari side got a prestigious point at the San Siro.
Inter coach Jose Mourinho admitted that things did not go as he had originally planned when they were held to a 1-1 draw at home against newly promoted side Bari today in the first matchday of Serie A.
However, the Portuguese mentor said he had no intention of looking for excuses, and he had no problems admitting that the Nerazzurri did not play well.
"I must not use the absence of [Esteban] Cambiasso or an attacking midfielder to justify the draw, it's not the time to do it," commented the former Chelsea coach to Sky.
"We have enough quality to win and we didn't do it because we didn't play well and because Bari played a great game. We did not have the luck to score the 2-0, despite two or three chances.
"We don't want any alibi, but this is a new team, with a total change. Tomorrow, I will start the work for the derby. I would do exactly the same if it was another game.
"Milan, who according to you journalists was a small team and Inter very good, will become the best team during the week, whereas we will be a team without any possibility," added Mourinho, sarcastically.
The derby game is scheduled for next Saturday evening, with Inter now needing to avoid defeat in order to remain in touch with Milan in this early part of the season.
