Report: Livorno Lining Up Ambitious Bid For LA Galaxy’s Donovan
The Amaranto are looking to tie up a number of transfer targets as they aim to bolster the squad for next season.
With Livorno president Aldo Spinelli reported to be working in Milan as he looks to conclude a number of ongoing negotiations, it seems the Amaranto are on a rampage as they prepare to make numerous changes to their current squad.
According to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport, president Spinelli has set his sights on LA Galaxy’s Landon Donovan. Whilst exact details of a bid are still yet unknown, it remains to be seen how the newly promoted side could lure the American to Tuscany, given his added status following the recent Confederations Cup.
Spinelli is also set to negotiate the terms for an exchange deal with Lazio as he meets with Claudio Lotito today. The Amaranto are keen to push forward with a deal that would see Emilson Cribari arrive in Tuscany in place of Nico Pulzetti.
Should the Brazilian refuse the switch, the Livorno chief has already identified one of Lorenzo Stovini, Tiziano Polenghi or Francesco Benussi as possible alternatives as he looks to bolster the defence for the challenges of the top flight.
