Milan recorded a 2-0 victory over a struggling Lecce side at the San Siro stadium, thanks to late goals by Ronaldinho and Pippo Inzaghi.
The result means that the Rossoneri
remain in third place, with a four point buffer over their nearest rivals Genoa, making it all the
more likely that Champions League football will be on the agenda for the club
The three points attained were therefore
extremely significant, in terms of achieving their ultimate goal this term,
something that Pato affirmed at the conclusion of the match.
“We have taken three very important
points from this match,” Pato declared in an interview with Sky.
“I was very happy to help my team achieve
this feat tonight, and we are all very pleased with the result.”
The young Brazilian was without doubt the
most dominant player on the pitch, despite the fact that he squandered several
opportunities to break the deadlock.
“I missed a number of opportunities that
could have ended the game earlier; however I am happy that others, such as
Inzaghi, did the job.”
Pato made one final comment in regards to
the Brazilian national team, and his opinions on his exclusion from Dunga’s
“I have to respect the coach because he
is my coach. All I can do is try my best.”
