The Brazilian playmaker moved to Italy in the summer of 2008, but has stated that Catalonia is still very special to him, according to his brother...Former Barcelona legend Ronaldinho still feels a special connection not only to his former club but the city itself, according to his brother Roberto de Assis.
Assis, who is also the Samba star's agent, spoke to radio station ONA FM and made no secret of his sibling's affection for the place that the 29-year old spent six hugely successful years between 2003 and 2008.
He stated, "Barcelona will always be a special city for us. We would be happy to return. We have much love, respect, and love for the city and the club itself."
He also added that he and his brother still have friends at the Camp Nou despite leaving the club for AC Milan in a reputed €20m deal, and wished them well in their assault on the Copa Del Rey, Primera Division and Champions League crowns.
Assis said, "We have many friends in Barcelona and we hope that this will be a year of victories for the club."
However, regardless of talk of Ronaldinho being on good terms with his former employers, his brother insisted that the Brazilian is happy in Italy despite having a difficult time since his big-money transfer.
He concluded, "Ronaldinho started well here but then he suffered an injury which saw him removed from the team.
"He is in a new stage of his life and the long-term results will come, if we can give it time."
Ronaldinho made over 200 appearances for the Blaugrana and guided them to Champions League success in 2006.
