Ranieri Doesn't Like Baggio-Del Piero Comparisons

Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri is looking forward to the game against Genoa and he has heaped even more praise on captain Alessandro Del Piero. Still, he doesn't believe Pinturicchio is like the legendary Roberto Baggio...

The Bianconeri have been flying high this term and much of this has been down to their captain. Juve head into the clash as favourites to come away with three points but Ranieri knows it will not be easy.

The coach is hoping Del Piero can do some more magic from his set pieces but he insists his side is not a one-man team.

"Del Piero like Baggio? I think everyone has his own style and I never like comparing great players as they all have different ways of taking free kicks," Ranieri told Sky Sport Italia.

"Baggio, Zico, Ronaldinho, Juninho Pernanbucano - they all have their own styles and they are all unique.

"Del Piero is an important reference point for us; he is not just a great player, he is more than that - he flies the flag for us. Still, everyone knows that we are not a one-man team.

"Everyone is behind us and this makes him express his talents even further.

"A number of players have been recovering and this is a good sign for us. We have been in good form, morale is high and we are looking forward to the game."

The coach then had some words on tomorrow's opponents and he has singled out Diego Milito as the dangerman.

"Genoa have spent plenty this year and they have brought in great players," added Ranieri.

"They lost Marco Borriello but replaced him with  Milito and the team are doing brilliantly."

Juve are a point in front of the port-city side and they could go top of the league for the first time in 915 days.

The last time the Bianconeri were on top was in the summer of 2006, when they lifted their 29th Scudetto, which was then later revoked as a result of Calciopoli.
