The Selecao take on both Venezuela and Colombia at the beginning of next month, and Dunga knows that his side really need two positive results to ease the pressure building up around him.

The 1994 World Cup winner yesterday named his squad for the two qualifiers, and a notable exclusion was that of Ronaldinho.

The 28-year-old joined Milan this summer from Barcelona, and had a superb debut against Bologna.

However, he has since struggled, and indeed has only been on the bench for the last three matches against FC Zurich, Lazio and Reggina.

Dunga has explained that he has left out Ronaldinho because he feels he needs to improve his fitness, but he says the door is wide open for him to return soon.

"We believe in him,” Dunga stressed.

“He just needs to train a little more, improve his pace and reactions. Improve."

Ronaldinho is likely to only be on the bench again during Milan’s big derby clash against Inter this weekend.
