Official: Samp Snap Up Argentine International
Sampdoria have completed the signing of Argentine international defender Jonathan Pablo Bottinelli from San Lorenzo.
The Blucerchiati have not been too prominent on the transfer
market this summer, however they have made a few impressive coups, including Parma’s Daniele Dessena
and Nacional Montevideo’s Bruno Fornaroli.
Samp have now swooped for another South American by completing the signing of San Lorenzo defender Bottinelli.
The 23-year-old was an integral part of El Ciclon's Clausura success in 2007, and he has been heavily linked with a move to Spain in recent times, with Sevilla and Real Betis both interested.
Bottinelli has won one cap for Argentina, playing in a 0-0 draw against Chile last year, while he also had a trial with fallen English giants Leeds United earlier this year.
The stopper passed a medical this morning and will be officially presented to the media tomorrow. Bottinelli will join his Argentine compatriot Hugo Campagnaro in the port city.
