Earlier reports had suggested that long term suitors AC Milan had all but pulled out of the race to sign the Togolese striker, a move which may have prompted the Gunners to review their valuation of Adebayor.

However, according to the player’s agent Vincenzo Morabito, Arsenal now appear willing to accept almost half their original valuation which could see Adebayor finally swap London for Milan. Morabito confirmed that the two clubs were still in talks.

"We're working to make the deal easier," he said before adding, "The signs are very positive."

It is believed that Arsenal had initially slapped a £30 million price tag on their striker, a valuation that Milan had admitted they would struggle to achieve. Yet speaking to Antenna3, an Italian television station, the player’s agent declared that Arsenal now looking to be willing to compromise on the transfer fee.

"We’re arriving at more reasonable figures," Morabito confessed before revealing, "They're still a lot, but a lot less than the 45million euros (£36m) that were initially asked for."

With Adebayor seemingly intent on leaving the Emirates and an asking price now within Milan’s reach, it appears that the Gunners may now be on the verge of losing the striker who scored 24 league goals for them last season.
