Inter & Roma Dine Over Mancini & Aquilani

Inter and Roma representatives had dinner together yesterday to discuss possible transfer deals involving Amantino Mancini and Alberto Aquilani.

Mancini is almost certain to leave the Eternal City this summer as his contract runs out in 2009, and he has refused to sign a new deal.

The Brazilian has been linked with a host of top clubs, including Juventus, Liverpool, Lyon, and particularly Barcelona.

Aquilani’s future is also in doubt as the player is unsatisfied by the financial side of the Giallorossi’s new extension offer, and he realises that he can obtain a better contract elsewhere.

The 23-year-old, who is currently on Euro 2008 duty, is wanted by Juventus, who have publicly declared their interest in him.

However Inter may be the favourites to sign the duo as yesterday Inter director Marco Brance travelled to Rome to hold transfer talks with Giallorossi representatives.

It is reported that Roma are now willing to listen to offers for Aquilani, as well as Mancini, and may be prepared to sell if they receive a good offer. Inter are prepared to offer both David Suazo and Hernan Crespo in a part exchange deal.
