Premier League Team of the Week: Costa, Sterling impress again

Goal takes a look back at the weekend's fixtures and picks the the finest XI from the latest round of top-flight action, including Chelsea's emphatic 6-3 win over Everton.

The Premier League's third round of fixtures saw Chelsea maintain its 100 percent record with a thrilling 6-3 win over Everton while champion Manchester City suffered a shock home defeat to Stoke City.

Elsewhere Arsenal, was held by Leicester City, Liverpool brushed Tottenham aside while Manchester United is still searching for its first win of the season after only registering a 0-0 draw with Burnley.

Our Team of the Week begins at Turf Moor where Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton (4) kept Manchester United at bay with some fine saves. The former United prospect thwarted Robin van Persie in the first half before claiming a number of balls into the box as the visitors chased a winner.

Heading up a defensive trio is Stoke captain Ryan Shawcross (4) who worked tirelessly to keep Sergio Aguero and Stevan Jovetic quiet at the Etihad Stadium, and no doubt impressed any possible suitors ahead of transfer deadline day.

He is joined in the back line by Leicester City's Wes Morgan (4.5), who put in a number of fine blocks in and around his own area against Arsenal, and Burnley skipper Jason Shackell (4.5) after he kept Van Persie and Wayne Rooney at bay with a tough-tackling display against Louis van Gaal's men.

Liverpool star Raheem Sterling (4.5) takes his place on the right side of midfield following another fine showing for the Reds. The England international opened the scoring at White Hart Lane with a tap-in at the back post and troubled the Tottenham defense whenever he found himself in possession.

Joining him in midfield is Morgan Schneiderlin (4.5), who put behind him a frustrating summer to score twice as Southampton recorded its first win of the campaign at Upton Park. Even an error that led to Mark Noble's opener couldn't ruin an impressive showing from the Tottenham target.

Swansea City is the only side other than Chelsea to have made a perfect start to the season, and the club is represented by Gylfi Sigurdsson (4.5) and Nathan Dyer (4.5) after they stood out in the 3-0 win over West Brom. The pair combined twice, with the latter finding the net on both occasions.

Leading the line is the league's top scorer Diego Costa (4), who took his tally since moving to Stamford Bridge to four in three matches as he struck in the first and last minute at Goodison Park.

He spearheads an attacking trio that is completed by Leonardo Ulloa (4), who netted a fine header to secure a point for Leicester against Arsenal, and Gabriel Agbonlahor (4) after he ran Hull City ragged and produced a fine finish on the turn to open the scoring at Villa Park.
