Reports claim offers from Juventus and Valencia for Chicharito

The Manchester United striker is being courted by clubs in Spain and Italy as the transfer window winds down.

Manchester United has received offers from Juventus and Valencia for striker Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez, according to reports.

The Manchester Evening News reported the story on its website on Thursday, with the Daily Mail publishing a similar report, adding that Manchester United is willing to sell.

The Mexican press picked up on the reports, as well as a story in Portuguese publication O Jogo, which suggested the Benfica, Inter Milan and Tottenham are all interested in signing Chicharito before the transfer window closes on at 6 p.m. ET on Monday.

The 26-year-old Mexico striker was an unused substitute for Manchester United in Sunday’s 1-1 draw away at Sunderland, sparking more speculation that his time at Old Trafford was up.

Chicharito has kept quiet about his future, but has admitted this summer when he was with the Mexico squad that he is far from happy being on the bench and rejects the “super-sub” tag.

Hernandez lost his place in the Mexico team ahead of the World Cup and the country’s second-highest goal-scorer was used as a substitute, with Oribe Peralta taking his starting spot.
