The second round of Premier League fixtures saw Manchester City brush Liverpool aside to make it two wins from two, while Chelsea and Tottenham also kept pace with the champion by claiming victories over the weekend.
Manchester United failed to fully recover from its opening day defeat to Swansea City as the club was held by Sunderland, while Arsenal battled back from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Everton.
Our Team of the Week starts at Stamford Bridge, though, where goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois (4) turned in a man of the match performance, including a crucial save from a one-on-one with David Nugent with the scores level at 0-0, to help his side claim a 2-0 win over Leicester.
At right back, the ever-reliable Pablo Zabaleta (3.5) features, with the City defender as solid as ever in the 3-1 triumph over Liverpool, consistently getting forward to support attacks and dealing well with Alberto Moreno's forays up the left flank, despite his second-half own goal.
Tottenham left back Danny Rose (4) was another defender to claim an assist as he picked out Emmanuel Adebayor for his side's fourth goal of the day. The 24-year-old won 66.7 percent of his duels on the day, while he won both tackles he made over the 90 minutes and had a pass success rate of 89 percent.
In midfield, another Spurs man features with Erik Lamela (4) starring at White Hart Lane on Saturday. The playmaker picked up two assists in a polished performance that included 48 passes in total, with an impressive 90 percent completion rate.
Lee Cattermole (4) has rebuilt his career at Sunderland under Gus Poyet and he was one of the Black Cats' midfield men to make the difference against Manchester United, nullifying the impact the likes of Juan Mata and Wayne Rooney could have on the game and even getting forward himself at times to force shots at goal.
Nacer Chadli (4) is another from Maurcio Pochettino's Spurs side to get the nod, with the Belgium international, who had previously found first-team opportunities hard to come by at White Hart Lane, scoring twice in the demolition of QPR.
After injuries wrecked his 2013-14 season, Stevan Jovetic (4) has come back with a bang in the new season and was impressive throughout against Liverpool. His two goals got the home side on the way to a 3-1 victory and he also won all of his aerial duels.
Diego Costa (3.5) is another to have started the season strongly and he was once again on the scoresheet, his first in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge. Emmanuel Adebayor (4), meanwhile, scored his first goal of the campaign in the win over QPR, a 25 percent shot to goal ratio for the Togolese star on the day.
