David Beckham is set to return to professional soccer, as the owner of a new MLS franchise in Miami.
The former England captain starred for Manchester United, Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, AC Milan and PSG during a career spanning 20 years, before retiring from the game at the end of the 2012-13 season. Or so we all thought.
Beckham will now head a new franchise in Major League Soccer, with his Miami based side expected to join the league in 2016.
After a four year spell with Real Madrid, Beckham left Spain for the States and signed for LA Galaxy in 2007. He would go on to make 98 appearances for Los Galacticos, scoring 18 times, winning consecutive MLS cups between 2011 and 2012.
Beckham will be joined by MLS commissioner Don Garber at 10:00 Eastern Time for the announcement, and you can watch it right here with Goal.
