Chicharito scores late equalizer as Manchester United bounced from Capital One Cup

With the Red Devils on their way out of the tournament, Chicharito fired home a late equalizer, which would ultimately only delay United's elimination.
Manchester United's season took another downturn on Wednesday evening, but Javier Hernandez can say that his form is trending up.

After Phil Bardsley scored late in extra time for Sunderland on a David De Gea howler, Chicharito struck back in the dying seconds of extra time off an assist from Adnan Januzaj, sweeping home into an empty net to send the Capital One Cup semifinal into a shootout.

Unfortunately for Manchester United, the team turned in a dreadful performance from the spot, converting just one of five penalty kicks to lose 2-1 in the shootout and send Sudnderland to the final against Manchester City.

For the Mexican international, it was his second straight game with a goal, and his third tally in five matches. After scoring as a substitute against Chelsea on Sunday, David Moyes handed Chicharito the start against the Black Cats, and the striker went all 120 minutes.
