The 29-year-old signed for the north London side in 2005 from Nottingham Forest, going on to play over 200 Premier League games for the club.
Dawson has made 293 Tottenham appearances in total, scoring 10 goals, and wants to crown his likely 300th this season with qualification for next season's Champions League.
He has featured in 10 of his side's 11 matches so far in 2013-14.
