Hull City have secured automatic promotion to the Premier League following a dramatic 2-2 draw against Championship winners Cardiff City on Saturday.
Nicky Maynard's late penalty for Cardiff set up a nervy finish for Steve Bruce's side, who had taken a second-half lead through Nick Proschwitz and Paul McShane.
But Watford was unable to capitalize as a late error from debutant goalkeeper Jack Bonham, who saw a Ross McCormack chip to slip through his fingers, allowed Leeds to secure a 2-1 victory at Vicarage Road.
Joining Gianfranco Zola's side in the playoffs are Brighton, Crystal Palace and Leicester City, who all sealed wins on the final day of the Championship campaign.
Leicester clinched sixth place in a 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest, who narrowly miss out on the play-offs after Anthony Knockaert's 90th minute goal at the City Ground.
Bolton also fell agonizingly short on goal difference after they could only manage a 2-2 draw at home to Blackpool on the final day.
At the bottom, Peterborough was relegated to League One in agonizing fashion, as Mile Jedinak headed in a late goal to secure a 3-2 win for Crystal Palace.
That result meant Barnsley's 2-2 draw away at Huddersfield was enough to see the Tykes safe by a single point.
Meanwhile, Brighton secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Wolves, which sent the Midlands side into League One.
