Nearly caught out by Bothroyd's lofted effort which dropped wide but did not have a save to make in the first half as QPR missed the target a few times and his defenders made some telling blocks.
Very quiet in the first half but, as Reading grew stronger, he was able to support well on the right-hand side and threw in some dangerous crosses.
Made a telling tackle to deny Bothroyd a shooting chance and blocked several shots and crosses as he has consistently done throughout the season. Had a great chance to open the scoring but could not get a good touch on the ball in a goalmouth scramble. He kept the door closed on QPR time after time.
So close to reaching an early Guthrie free kick before heading another over but his distribution from the back was unreliable. Nearly won the game late on with a powerful header
Solid, tidy performance from the full-back as he did the simple things well, taking no chances. Did not support attacks often enough, however, although had a huge shout for a penalty under a Bosingwa challenge.
Swung in a dangerous cross early on which evaded everyone, but wasted another chance from a set piece as he blasted straight into the wall. His delivery overall, though, was a constant danger to QPR.
Sloppy start for the captain but he soon got into his rhythm, leading by example with a real show of effort as he got involved in almost every Reading attack.
Helped Reading put pressure on the visitors' midfield as the Royals ended the first half the stronger of the two sides but could not inspire a winning goal from deep in the heart of the midfield.
Spent most of the game on the right wing but was extremely quiet in the first half before having a penalty claim turned down. Replaced by Robson-Kanu early after the break.
Has looked a little off the pace this season and his touch was loose early on, but he grew in confidence and had a glorious opportunity from a few yards out which was scrambled away, before curling an effort just wide in the second half.
Was unable to get past Bosingwa down the flank as often as he would have liked, but produced one excellent flick to find Pogrebnyak before setting up a goalmouth scramble with a good header across the box. Brought off for Le Fondre with 25 minutes left.
Sold short by a pass back to him and was charged down by McAnuff but, fortunately for Green, it went behind. Also struggled with a goalmouth scramble and was saved by Bosingwa on the line. Denied Morrison late on with a fine tip over the bar.
Lucky to win a free kick early on after McAnuff tore past him but looked relatively solid for most of the game despite continued pressure from the hosts.
Not able to get forward early in the half but had a decent chance before the break, seeing a shot blocked by Morrison. Found a lot more space to support Bothroyd on the left in the second period.
Distribution from the back was hit-and-miss and he was caught out by McAnuff and Pogrebnyak a couple of times.
Took a while to get into the game but eventually had a couple of chances to stride forward. Kept things level as he cleared off the line from Mariappa but was required more defensively as Reading enjoyed more possession and struggled to deal with Pogrebnyak and McAnuff on occasion.
Had the first effort of the match from 20 yards out, curling his effort high and wide. Blasted a second-half volley just over before spurning a superb opportunity on the end of Bothroyd's pass.
Not at his best in the first half as the Reading midfield harried the visitors, and summed up a poor afternoon early in the second half with an effort that flew high into the stands.
Nearly opened the scoring with a superb curling free kick from 20 yards out before lifting a delightful pass over for Bothroyd's chance but did concede too many niggly fouls and eventually picked up a booking.
Anyone who has seen Taarabt play knows what a threat he can be. We saw the good and the bad from him early on as he showed some fine touches and fired just wide, but he also scuffed several efforts off target throughout the game and was eventually hauled off by Redknapp.
It was a fairly quiet opening period for his standards, and he didn't make life particularly troublesome for the Reading defense. After the break he showed fine skill to bring the ball down and set up a chance for Taarabt.
Had a great chance to open the scoring, but his lifted effort over McCarthy ran inches wide of the post. Made life awkward for Gunter on the wing a couple of times and was able to get to the byline more than once.
A. Le Fondre
Given 25 minutes to make an impact and had to wait until 80 minutes for his chance, heading over at the far post as he met Gunter's cross.
Made his return to the side, coming on for Blackman early in the second half, but brought no real intensity and Reading struggled to impose the dominance they enjoyed in the first half.
