Moyes can take Everton into the Champions League, says Fellaini

The Belgium international says the Scottish manager has greatly improved the club during his time at Goodison Park and has urged his teammates to finish the season strongly.

Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini has praised David Moyes for the work he has done at Goodison Park and says the Scot is the man to take the club into the Champions League.

The Toffees are currently sixth in the Premier League, four points behind fourth-placed Arsenal, but with a game in hand and a realistic chance of a top-four finish. Fellaini believes his team is doing a good job of competing with the top clubs, who operate on far bigger budgets, and says Moyes deserves praise for his work.

"In 10 years he has made the club stronger and has positioned us just outside the top four or five clubs," Fellaini told reporters. "We don't have the same budget as Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea or Tottenham either, yet we are still doing well."

Everton’s hopes of finishing in the top four took a hit on Monday when it was held to a goalless draw by Arsenal, and next up for the Toffees is a trip to Sunderland. Fellaini is still optimistic his side can qualify for Europe’s premiere competition and has urged his team to finish the season strongly.

"Playing in the Champions League would be great," Fellaini said. "We have a good team and I don't think we are far from it. But we have to work hard and win our games."
