Terry: Chelsea needs to be involved in the Champions League

The Blues captain has called for his teammates not to let up in their pursuit of a top-four finish, despite the distractions provided by the FA Cup and Europa League.
Chelsea captain John Terry has urged his teammates not to lose sight of the importance of finishing in the Premier League top four this term.

The Blues face a crammed fixture list in April, with their league commitments allied to participation in the latter stages of both the Europa League and FA Cup.

However, the former England skipper believes it is vital that the west London club does not miss out on Champions League football next season by concentrating too much on silverware.

"We must win and keep winning games in the league and really push," he told reporters. "Because that is what this club feeds off - the Champions League. We must be involved in that."

Chelsea lost its last Premier League fixture against Southampton, but has a chance to atone when it takes on Sunderland at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Rafa Benitez's side is two points clear of fifth-placed Arsenal in the English top flight.
