Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew believes new signing Moussa Sissoko is already repaying the reported 1.8 million pound price tag after scoring twice on his home debut in the 3-2 win over Chelsea yesterday.
The midfielder, who moved to St. James' Park in the January transfer window, followed up his impressive debut against Aston Villa with a matching-winning, two-goal performance against the Blues.
“We rushed the deal to get him here in January, he was supposed to be a summer target but we wanted him and he’s paid us back handsomely, we have watched him for a long time but we decided to accelerate it," Pardew told reporters. "He has fantastic power but, with players, you never know about their attitude until you get them in and start working with them.
"But he came in like a giant and played like a giant. I remember watching him for Toulouse 14 months ago and thought, 'He is the one for us.'"
Newcastle has won two out of two since the Frenchman's arrival and face a tricky away game at Tottenham next Saturday afternoon.
