'I am happy to stay' - Jol ready for Fulham contract talks

The Dutch manager has revealed he is eager to extend his tenure at Craven Cottage and expects to be joined by Brede Hangeland in committing his future to the club.
Fulham manager Martin Jol has revealed he is happy at the club as talks begin over him penning a new contract.

The Dutchman led the Cottagers to their second-highest Premier League points total ever last season, as they posted a ninth-placed finish. The 56-year-old has now set his sights on extending his impressive reign at Craven Cottage.

"I'm happy to stay," Jol told reporters.

Jol went on to claim that defender Brede Hangeland, who has previously been linked with a move to Arsenal, is also keen to commit his future to the club.

"We made him a very good offer, and he smiled for the first time since a couple of months ago, so I think he was quite happy," Jol said. "Hopefully, he will sign that, because he's never injured and always plays. He leads by example and we would love to have him here for the next couple of years.

"You always hope people will be satisfied. We pay good wages and made him a very good offer. I didn't see him, because I don't do the negotiations but the people who do that told me he was quite happy."
