Manchester United striker Robin van Persie will not receive any retrospective FA punishment for allegedly elbowing Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye at the weekend.
Magpies boss Alan Pardew criticized the Dutch forward after the game in an incident he described as 'unsavory', hinting that past clashes between the pair may have led to Van Persie deliberately attempting to foul the Frenchman.
Nevertheless, Newcastle looks to have been dealt a reprieve of its own with combative midfielder Cheikh Tiote caught stamping on Manchester United's Tom Cleverley in the same fixture, and no charge has been brought against him either.
It would seem as if Stoke central defender Robert Huth will also escape further action after appearing to stamp on Liverpool striker Luis Suarez during the 0-0 draw at Anfield.
The club's manager Tony Pulis was vocal after the game about the Uruguayan's penchant for going down easily under minimal contact, but his team's physical approach saw it finish the game with six yellow cards.
