The Anfield chairman is hoping to avoid a transfer saga involving the England international striker and insists that manager Brendan Rodgers will be making the final decision.
Former club Newcastle United has been credited with an interest in the England international and has already seen a loan bid rejected by the Reds.Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers has admitted that the club will listen to offers made for the striker and Werner insisted that the Ulsterman will be the one to decide if the 35 million pound man leaves or not.
"Hopefully the question will be answered shortly, but at the moment Andy is on the team and we look forward to him contributing," he told Sky Sports News. "Brendan is clearly the leader here. The only thing I can say is we will do what is best for the club.
"At the moment Andy is on the squad, he is an important member of the England team and he has a lot of talent. We will see what happens."
Carroll has scored just 11 goals for Liverpool since his record-breaking transfer in Jan. 2011.
