Tottenham skipper is to have an operation on his troublesome knee in the summer and has admitted talks over a new deal at White Hart Lane are yet to materialize
The defender has been limited to 23 appearances in all competitions this season and his contract runs out in June, but he is hopeful of signing a new deal after his operation.
“Now the season is done I am sure there will be some talks," King told Sky Sports. "To be honest, I am not entirely sure what's going on. I have just wanted to concentrate on trying to play and get my knee right."
King has suffered with a recurring knee injury for several years that has stopped the defender from training with his team-mates on a regular basis.
But King is hoping this next surgery can get him ready and fit for next season.
"I will have a little clean out, maybe in the next couple of days," he said. "It's something I had earlier in the season. I missed the first few games when I had an operation and hopefully it's not something serious."
He added, "It is something I will have done and hopefully it won't set me back too much. I hope I will be able to have a good season with the knee cleared out."
