The Argentine reportedly held talks with Nerazzurri president Massimo Moratti about taking the charge of the Serie A side last summer but ultimately ended up in Basque country
The Argentine is the toast of Europe at the moment after his side's thrilling 5-3 aggregate win over reigning Premier League champions Manchester United in the last 16 of the Europa League, and Barcelona's Pep Guardiola was on Friday moved to label Bielsa as "the best coach on the planet".
It has been claimed that Inter is desperate to hire the man it allegedly first approached about moving to San Siro last summer but with Athletic currently pushing hard to qualify for the Champions League, Bielsa is reluctant to discuss his plans beyond the end of the season.
"I do not want to talk about my new contract," the former Chile boss told reporters ahead of his side's Liga clash with Valencia. "It is a question that makes me uncomfortable. All evaluations should be taken at the end of the season. Right now we just have to think about the fact that we are in the running for all three competitions."
Athletic currently sits seventh in La Liga, will play Schalke in the quarterfinals of the Europa League and is due to take on Barcelona in the final of the Copa del Rey.
