Chelsea defender Gary Cahill already feeling settled at the club following move from Bolton

England international feels comfortable in the Blues squad as players embark on training trip to Mallorca after securing move from Trotters following protracted transfer

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has reflected on his first week of being with the Blues and believes he is now fully settled at the club.

The England international signed for Andre Villas-Boas’ side for a fee of around 7 million pounds from Bolton but was left out of the team that drew 0-0 with Norwich last weekend.

However, with the team currently away in Mallorca for a training camp, Cahill is now feeling fully immersed in the squad after a hectic few weeks.

“It has been a mad couple of weeks for me hasn't it?" Cahill told the club’s official website. "I came in on the Tuesday, trained for just a few days before the game at Norwich and then we came straight over on a plane to Mallorca.

"Training has been really good and it has been enjoyable to get to know the lads - I know everyone a lot better now."

Cahill joined his teammates on the trip to Mallorca for warm weather training and believes the time in close proximity to his colleagues has helped him settle into the squad.

“The trip has definitely helped me," he added. “I have only been here just over a week, so I've obviously still got to get to know the lads a lot more than I do now, but it's been great because we've spent most of the time together and I've got to know them a lot better than if I was back in England.

"There are a lot of different characters here, definitely - most of all because of all the different nationalities.

"That's the one thing that's really different here and in that sense it's really good - there are some entertaining characters and they're great guys."
