Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey eager for Jack Wilshere return

The Welsh international has yet to have a string of games alongside the 20-year-old, who has been sidelined since the beginning of the season due to an ankle injury.

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey cannot wait for teammate Jack Wilshere to return from injury so the pair can finally have a run of games alongside each other.

Serious injuries have prevented both players from spending significant time on the field with one another, as Ramsey recovered from a broken leg for the majority of last season while Wilshere has missed this campaign through an ankle injury.

“Jack is a great player for us," the Welshman told the club’s official website. "He had a really good season last year. It’s only a good thing to have competition for places.

“It’s been quite weird because [initially] I was playing, so Jack went out on loan, then I got injured, so Jack played. We haven’t really had a chance to play together yet in the league. It will be good to have the competition."

Despite the England international being out of action so far this season, the Gunners midfield has flourished with Ramsey and Mikel Arteta controlling the action and the 21-year-old believes their partnership is improving with the more games they play.

“It has definitely grown as the season has gone on," he said. "We’ve got a better understanding of each other and that is starting to show with the assists and the chances created. It is only going to get stronger as the season goes on, too."
