Croatian midfielder delighted with his team-mates as international break had no effect on side's performance after convincing 2-0 win over Aston Villa on Monday

Luka Modric has called on Tottenham to keep their recent run of good form up when they face West Brom on Saturday.

Spurs are unbeaten in their last nine Premier League games and have won eight of them pushing them up to third in the table, having lost their opening matches against Manchester United and Manchester City.

“We’re up to third place and there are hard games coming up," Modric told the club’s official website. "We need to keep going and just keep up this momentum. We’re playing well, we’re fighting for each other and we need to keep going.

“We are full of confidence. We’ve won eight games out of nine and that is fantastic form in the Premier League.”

The midfielder was also delighted with how quickly he and his teammates managed to gel again after a two week international break in Mondays 2-0 win over Aston Villa.

“It was a very important game for us because it was the first game after the international break," Modric added. “We were away from each other for a long time and it was important to win. Villa have good players, international players with lots of experience, but we showed how much quality we have."
