thumbnail Hello,

Defender says the domestic cup triumph is a stepping stone to greater glories for the club, and believes that the players must now move forward to achieve more success

Vincent Kompany insists Manchester City will continue to improve after winning the FA Cup on Saturday.

Roberto Mancini's men won their first trophy in 35 years by beating Stoke City in the final, with Yaya Toure scoring the only goal of the game.

Now the Belgium international believes it is time to look forward and achieve more success.

"It is a great feeling. The players were in the dressing room afterwards and they were saying, ‘We want more of this’," Kompany said, according to The Mirror.

"We have now laid down the foundations and now we must build the house.

"We are always looking to go forward and we are thinking now of achieving more – like winning the league.

"We knew we could do it. Stoke are a very dangerous team and you know they can give problems when their big guys come up for set pieces.

"But we feel confident when we defend and it was such a good feeling for the fans to win them a trophy after 35 years.

"Now we have to move forward."
